This is a book about a man called D’Artagnan. He leaves
his home on a farm and goes to Paris. He wants to become a musketeer. He meets Athos, Porthos and Aramis. They are the three musketeers and D’Artagnan makes friends with them.

France is at war with England. The Queen of France is in love with the Duke of Buckingham, the Prime Minister of England. D’Artagnan uncovers a plot against the Queen of France by the evil Cardinal.

The Cardinal has lots of people working for him. D’Artagnan and the three musketeers fight to save the Queen of France.

D’Artagnan falls in love with the queen’s maid called Constance. She is married to an old man that works for the Cardinal. He also falls in love with Milady de Winter who works for the Cardinal.

D’Artagnan and the three musketeers fight for love, for France and for each other.
